These wonderfully kind words from a reader I don’t know at all beyond Substack are the kind of thing that honestly means more to me than any number of subs or readers. Thank you so much for the feature and the comments!

Orin has long been underrated so it’s nice seeing some attention thrown his way

Thanks for the shout-out! I imagine it takes a decent amount of time to put something like this together, and it means a lot as someone just starting out to get positive feedback from someone interacting with your writing. Best of luck with your projects, whether on or off Substack!

Me mode > everything. My copy of the Big T would love to see a sibling show up soon.

I love this framing of “what we put in is what we get back,” but I’m also realising how much discovery on here feels… accidental?

like it’s not just about wanting to read more fiction, but having the time, energy, and right overlap of people for it to actually happen. there’s so much good fiction here that I suspect a lot of it is less undiscovered and more… just not intersecting with the right reader yet.

Regarding COVID stories: I listened to Ann Patchett’s “Tom Lake” on Audible, narrated by Meryl Streep. I recommend it as a great balance of getting on with life in weird times plus a compelling look back at the characters’ history.
